NLP is the study of the structure of subjective human experience. Neuro Linguistic Programming Practitioners are trained in an accelerated learning strategy to detect and understand how individuals structure their thinking, their patterns of being in the world, their perceptions.  It is a profound therapy that focuses on how language and experiences has affected our minds, bodies, our inner parts, our values and beliefs.  It explores how our thoughts, speech, actions and connections create our personal reality. Through freeing ourselves from limiting events and beliefs, we can open up to our spiritual selves in a more authentic way.

NLP Facilitation can shift beliefs and patterns that no longer serve clients in present day. The therapeutic goals are set by the client bringing beliefs, emotions, and traumas, patterns that are limiting their life and preventing them from accessing their full inner resources. Trained NLP Practitioners become facilitators for clients who call upon them to use NLP skills of changing, transforming subjective reality when it no longer serves a person.   The process is embedded in respect for each person’s model of the world and an acknowledgement that all are valid.  The goal of NLP is to provide the opportunity for choice in our mind, body and spirit.  Those who take the path of NLP are often curious and even fascinated by our human perceptual experience.  NLP therapeutic questions are about, how we do what we do? how we think?, how we learn?, how we experience our emotions?  Specifically the focus is on how we structure reality individually in our brains, our minds and our bodies. Tools and processes of NLP and Trance are used to access and shift limiting imprints and beliefs. .

NLP Origins NLP began in the early 1970’s with many contributors, from many fields.  The developers were originally Richard Bandler, John Grinder. Three key therapists that influenced NLP were Fritz Perls, originator of Gestalt Therapy, Virginia Satir, a key force with Family Systems Therapy and Milton Erickson, Clinical Hypnotherapist. Other insights came from Gregory Bateson, anthropologist who contributed the cybernetics and communications theory.  Many over the decades have added to the knowledge base of NLP.

Outcome Clarification NLP is well known in the coaching world for its tools of contrast and clarification, outcome setting and aligning our goals and values with all levels of our being in order to create motivation for action.  The primary foundation is that human beings have all the resources they need within them.  Experiences of trauma and critical messages create through our unique physiology of thinking, body imprinting, limiting beliefs and stored images that prevent us from reaching our full potential.

Language Patterns NLP Practitioners are trained in detecting the gatekeepers of our perceptions, how we distort, delete, generalize.  In other therapies these are known as defenses and denial.  A key training in NLP is to be able to listen to and identify the patterns in linguistic structure that are used to create the distortions, deletions and generalizations. Metaphysical NLP works with the conscious, super conscious and subconscious minds.   NLP can create shifts of perception both in present time and with past traumatic or limiting imprints.  These shifts can facilitate transformations, evolutions of perceptions that have been frozen in time.

NLP Practitioners are trained to gather information, through listening to language in communication which can reveal what level of thinking a person is aligned with. These communication levels were developed by Gregory Bateson and are called Logical Levels. We communicate and think through the five senses at the level of Environment, Behaviour, Capabilities, Values/Beliefs, Identity, and Mission. Moving beyond these logical levels, we can communicate through energetic and metaphysical dimensions. Most NLP focuses on the five sensory model.

Communication is the Response that you received.  One of the Presuppositions of NLP is this statement about communication. NLP Practitioners are trained to be effective communicators, to experience communication with sensory acuity. Sensory Acuity means listening both to language and physiology. Effective communication begins in the space of trust and rapport. Rapport is developing an attunement, a mirroring and resonance between the two people communicating. While Rapport is sometimes judged as contrived, it actually requires a stepping aside of ego and a mind, body, spirit openness to the other person for it to truly be created.

Sensory Experiencing of the World NLP Practitioners are often fascinated by how individuals experience the world. Determining a person’s representational system is a part of NLP. We all use our five senses to experience, what we see, hear, feel, taste, smell and added to this model is what we can experience through the transpersonal and intuit energetically. Each one of us develops a unique way of remembering the images and experiences internally through these senses. It is said that 40% of us prefer images, 40% of us prefer feelings, taste and smell and 20% prefer sound or self-talk. It is possible, due to HEF, Human Energy Field surrounding each of us, that a new percentage could be added with respect to the transpersonal and energetic preference. NLP Practitioners are trained to identify a person’s representational systems for the purpose of self-awareness, learning styles and improved communications. NLP Practitioners also are trained to work with the nuances within those representational systems, using sub modalities, strategies, mapping and anchoring to facilitate change for a person who wants to have more control over how they think and feel.

NLP Timeline Therapy is known for its ability to work with perceptions of events in our personal history and personal stories.  It is a process of mapping, healing and re-imprinting our perceptions of events that stop us from our full potential. Timeline Therapy reconnects us to our inner resources and focuses on connecting our mind and spirit to our destiny and future instead of our past.  In NLP language these perspectives are known as Perceptual Positions and Future Pacing. Through NLP and Trance we can unveil, transform, integrate and leverage our existing internal resources and the resources of our ancestral timeline.

NLP Reframing is a process that can shift your perception of a situation by changing its meaning. Reframing is key therapeutic strategy focused on separation of the intention from the behaviour. Optimists reframe their experiences by focusing on the positive intention and Pessimists reframe their experience by focusing on the negative. The process is cognitive strengthening tool allowing a person to dissociate from an emotional relationship to a problem situation or state and accessing a different pattern of thinking.

NLP Motivation and Influence. Influence, a word that is often misunderstood with respect to NLP tools and strategies. As humans we are constantly in the flow of influence, either being influenced by others, by our filters of perception; or in the process of influencing the perceptions of others that we come in contact with. By understanding our primary subjective filters of motivation and attitude, we can access choice as how to use these filters to become conscious co-creators in all dimensions of our life values.
